The African Imaginary Books project is a community of writers and readers around the continent who review African books. We publish weekly video reviews on Instagram and a monthly newsletter on Substack. We also have a physical collection of books - as of June 2026 we have around 300 works of fiction and coffee table books - and acquire additional titles each month. Our librarian works closely with publishers, bookstores and our 3 book editors based in South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya.
